For those of you that have known me long enough, you may remember that near the end of freshman year in high-school, I had a kidney stone. Two days ago I was feeling similar pain, although not as intense. I figured it wasn't anything to bad, so I decided to wait on it. Yesterday I was feeling fine until last night around 7:30, when all of a sudden I started hurting real bad. So Shea came and picked me up and took me to the hospital (the ER, no less). There we waited for quite a while until they finally took me back and gave me some morphine (which is probably the coolest, 'cause it makes you not hurt, which is always good).
So they did some tests and it turns out that I have another kidney stone. Yay! (did you catch the sarcasm there?)
All day I've been lying around and sleeping. The medicine they gave me makes me sleepy, but also very dizzy and nauseated, which is a very bad thing. Anthony's on his way over here to bring me some saltine crackers (what a good friend!). Hopefully these side-effects won't last too terribly long, 'cause they pretty much suck. And hopefully I'll be okay by the time this weekend officially rolls around, 'cause it's Homecoming, and I can't miss the Homecoming festivities!
Besides all that, so far things have been goin' pretty well. I'm doin' alright in my classes and I'm really enjoying them, so that's good. As I said, Homecoming is this weekend. Tomorrow is the big bonfire, and then Saturday morning is the parade (the biggest collegiate parade in the nation, I might add) and then the big game versus Kansas. I think we can beat those Jayhawks (seriously, I don't even think that's a kind of bird!)!!!
Anywho, all of this is to say that I've got some great friends. Shea, Anthony, and Paola stayed with me in the ER until they discharged me after midnight. They're pretty much the coolest people. Much love to them.
